Dr. Presant was born and raised in Southern California. She completed her Neurology residency and Movement Disorders Fellowship at Vanderbilt University. She returned to Southern California after finishing her fellowship, accepting a position at UCLA. Eventually the Central Coast called and she moved to Santa Barbara. Dr. Presant has served the Movement Disorders population from Thousand Oaks to San Luis Opisbo through private practices since 2013.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Presant and her family moved to New Zealand and she was able to complete her training as a Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist remotely. She found Culinary Medicine to be very rewarding, helping people with Neurodegenerative Diseases to improve their quality of life and feel better along their journey. A natural offshoot of Culinary Medicine is Lifestyle Medicine, a new Board -Certified specialty in Medicine focusing on prevention or slowing of disease through lifestyle changes. Dr. Presant is now a candidate to become board certified in Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr. Presant is now combining her Movement Disorder, Culinary Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine training to bring a holistic approach to Neurologic care for patients of the Central Coast. She helps patients understand that it is never too late to make lifestyle changes and that they can really help, even in diseases like Parkinson’s Disease. Dr. Presant has given many talks, including multiple Keynote speeches at conferences, on this subject across the country and she really enjoys seeing the changes people make in their lives and hearing how much better they feel. She creates real connections with her patients and provides a positive environment for them along their journey. She has a passion for delivering quality, comprehensive care to people with Neurodegenerative diseases.
Dr. Presant loves living in Santa Barbara and when she is not in the office or in the kitchen cooking, you can find her running, hiking, out with her energetic Australian Cattle Dog or spending time with her two kids and her husband.
She looks forward to meeting you to help guide you on your journey!
